Dieter Ungerboeck, Chairman (retired)
Dieter Ungerboeck studied at the University of Vienna, Austria, and after moving to the US in his twenties, advanced his studies with an MBA and doctorial studies in Business Management at St. Louis University.
During 15 years as system engineer designing large-scale financial and manufacturing software - and eventually becoming IT Director - for an international Fortune-500 company, he experienced the huge productivity gains attainable from enterprise-wide integrated systems.
In 1985, Dieter founded Ungerboeck Systems International (USI), developing custom software solutions for process manufacturing industries in partnership with IBM. The company grew rapidly - and coincidentally – gained expertise in event management systems. In 1990, the firm focused exclusively on the event industries and developed EBMS (Event Business Management System), a seamlessly integrated software product of 30 modules covering the entire business spectrum from marketing to operations, accounting and financial analyses.
Throughout his career, Mr. Ungerboeck has espoused the ideals of a ” Renaissance Manager “ seeking to offer extraordinary long-term value at a fair price, built on the combined strengths of a competent organization, efficient processes, management continuity, and a solid financial foundation.
Today, USI is a recognized leader in the events industries, with offices in St. Louis, Karlsruhe, Lyon, London, Brisbane, Hong Kong and Guangzhou, China, serving clients on six continents, including some of the most prestigious event organizers, venues, and destinations.
In 1996, Mr. Ungerboeck was appointed Honorary Consul of Austria in the USA. Dieter now serves in an advisory role on the board of Ungerboeck Systems International and devotes much of his time and energy to running yet another successful business venture, The Ozark Yacht Club.
