How long have you worked in the industry?
I’ve worked for Ungerboeck for 16+ years, but my family owned a Food & Beverage company that provided services to multiple events, so I knew a little bit about the business beforehand.
How and why did you enter the events industry?
Before working for Ungerboeck, I was database administrator (DBA) of a healthcare company that focused on contract auditing. I helped create an application and database to speed up this process. Events have always been my passion and when the opportunity opened at Ungerboeck, I had no doubts about applying for the job. My first role was as a consultant.
What relationships have meant the most to you over your career?
I have so many that it is difficult to pick only one! I have been lucky to implement and discuss solutions with multiple people in multiple countries about event processes and challenges. I have learned a lot from my colleagues and customers. As a Product Manager, I need to understand the needs of my clients and my client’s guests. It also requires working as a team, creating new experiences, and improving efficiencies to satisfy the needs we have in the industry—all of which I enjoy.

What advice would you have for someone going into the events industry?
It is a very fun industry; forget about strict work schedules. You will get to know many people and be a part of exciting events. And if you work as an event coordinator or organizer, you need to plan down to the last detail. People usually remember what didn’t go right than what did.

I’ve traveled more than 1.5 million miles in 10 years.
