How and why you ended up working in the events industry?
My passion has always been to work in hospitality/events industry. I’ve always been interested in learning new things, especially new software. Being engaged with event management and working as University Professional Conference Organizer has given me a solid foundation on event management and operations. Due to this, I was always interested in businesses and their workflows, from planning to delivery and how can it be transformed into a process rather than emails or documents. Working in this role, will give me the ability to help customers transform their business processes by using systems and ultimately help them be more productive in their day-to-day operations.
Is there a specific project you’ve worked on in your career that you’re most proud of?
I have worked on multiple conferences with Professional Conference Organizers but the one that stands out was World Journalism Education Conference which is guided by World Journalism Congress and happens every 4 years. This was a complex conference where we showcased a university and had attendees including journalists from all over the world.
What have been the lessons you’ve learned in the events industry?
Nothing comes easy in the hospitality (events) industry. It requires continuous hard work, perseverance and patience. Working in different position teaches you the value that each team member contributes. Clear Communication, Appreciation and Gratitude are key in this industry.
What relationships have meant the most to you over your career?
I have been fortunate enough to learn and work with people who have had years of knowledge and experience in events industry. Over these years, I have made great friends who are like a family. Respect, Trust and Appreciation are 3 key ingredients for any relationship to flourish, which I value the most.
Tell me a bit about what you like most about working for Ungerboeck?
I really like that there are new functionalities and module developments which are taking place on constant basis. Being in this role excites me to introduce, develop and implement these new functionalities for the customers so that they can get more value out of the system.

What advice would you have for someone going into the events industry?
In events industry, you would need to understand the workflow of every department as it is a logical cycle, which works accordingly. Ensure the communication flow is seamless throughout the organization and continue to build rapport and improve working relationships with your colleagues.
What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?
I do carry a different personality outside work, more of an extrovert, loves to cook different cuisines, like to travel when possible, an ardent cricket fan and a pet lover.
